A stand assist lifter helps alleviate the physical stress on caregivers during transfers thanks to ergonomically correct features such as a well-designed push bar for improved maneuvering, while also easing and allowing for improved comfort during transfers for the patient.
These stand assist lifters are designed for people who have some weight bearing abilities but are unable to perform sit to sit or sit to stand transfers independently.

Step 1:
Prepare for the transfer Make sure your patient/loved-one is seated with a good upright posture, in preparation for the sit to stand transfer. Move the lift to the patient in preparation for step two.
Step 2:
Attach appropriate sling There are two types of slings available: the Stand Assist Sling, and the Transfer Stand Assist Sling (which provides more leg support). The two-point sling with back support is for those patients with adequate upper leg strength for standing. The four-point sling with back and leg support is for those patients who require more support and stability.
Lower the extendable lifting arm towards the patient so the sling can be donned. The sling hook design allows for one-handed donning. Additionally, the hook design prevents slings from sliding out, reducing fall risk.
There are three loops on each sling, color coded, to accommodate a more upright posture or a more reclining posture. The four-point sling has additional loops (five loops total) on the lower extremity straps. With these various loops, transfers can be personalized to your patient.

Step 3:
Adjust the TelescoLift The extendable lifting arm, the TelescoLift, has nine different adjustments which accommodate for people of varying heights offering improved support and comfort for the user.
Step 4:
Adjust the ErgoSupport The lower leg cushion/support, the ErgoSupport, can be adjusted in six adjustments to provide optimal support of your patient’s shin and calf. The ErgoSupport is articulated, following the natural movement of the lower extremity during the sit to stand transition.
Step 5:
Adjust any optional features The adjustable foot plate (optional feature) is adjustable to three different heights, and also has removable heel block if needed. This provides further customization for patient’s of all heights. The optional leg bands, are also available for increased stability and lower extremity support during transfers, and are both padded and machine washable.
Step 6:
Complete the transfer Provide instruction to your patient throughout the lift. Let them know when the lift will start rising, when you will move the lift, and when you are bringing them down. Prompt them to use the ergonomic hand grips, which fit the natural curvature of the hand providing a safer grip, and to push up with their legs, using their own body weight throughout the transfer.
