Three Wheel Mobility Scooter Reviews – Our 5 Favorites Leave a comment

If you are having trouble going for long walks with your walker, it may be time to consider a motorized mobility scooter.

A 3 wheel mobility scooter will give you the freedom you crave. Easy to use outdoors, three-wheel models can take tighter turns and tackle tough terrain, like grassy areas. Most models are travel-friendly, and easy to take with you on-the-go.

If you’re looking for an electric mobility scooter to take on walks through the park, a three-wheel model may be a good fit for you. We’re going to share some of our favorite models to help you find the right scooter for your needs.

Pride Travel Pro Premium

Pride’s Travel Pro Premium 3-wheel electric scooter is easy to maneuver and lightweight for easy transportability. Offering a smooth ride, the Travel Pro Premium allows for easy maneuverability in tight spaces and offers a top speed of 4mph.

On a full charge, this scooter can ride up to 6.3 miles before needing to be recharged. It also offers flat free tires, a 275-pound weight capacity and forward/reverse controls.

All of these features are impressive, but what really makes this model stand out is its portability. The scooter easily disassembles into five lightweight pieces that fit in the back of most sedans. The heaviest piece weighs less than 30 pounds, which makes it easy for most users to stow this scooter away independently.

The padded faux-leather seat is comfortable and adjustable to accommodate users of most heights. The armrests are also padded and can be folded up for easy entry and exit. A front-facing basket allows you to store your belongings while you ride.

  • Offers a long range of 6.3 miles
  • High weight capacity – 275 pounds
  • Adjustable seat height
  • Fold-up arms
  • Disassembles into multiple, lightweight pieces
  • Easy assembly

  • Not ideal for tough terrain

The Travel Pro Premium is not ideal for tough terrain, like grass, but this is a common issue with three-wheel scooters.

Pride’s Travel Pro Premium scooter is durable, easy to take with you on-the-go and offers a comfortable ride. If you’re looking for a three-wheel travel scooter that will last, this model is a good option.

Pride Go-Go Ultra X

Pride’s Go-Go Ultra X three wheel mobility scooter offers a longer range and a lower weight capacity than the Travel Pro Premium, but this model comes with many of the same convenient features that make this brand a go-to option for users.

The Go-Go Ultra X can easily be disassembled with one hand thanks to the auto-latching lockup mechanism. Like other Pride scooters, this model separates into five lightweight pieces for easy storage and transport.

The seat is mounted to the front of the frame for maximum stability while riding. The Go-Go Ultra X offers a top speed of 4mph, a range of 6.9 miles and a maximum weight capacity of 260 pounds. Scooter controls are easy to use, and the front basket offers plenty of space for storing your items.

  • One-handed frame separation for easy storage and transport
  • High weight capacity – 260 pounds
  • Long range of 6.9 miles
  • Sturdy and durable

  • Lower weight capacity

The only complaint with this scooter is that the weight capacity is a little lower compared to the Pride Travel Pro Premium. But it does offer a longer range per battery charge.

The Scout Compact scooter is heavy. Many people find that it’s difficult to lift the scooter in one piece, so it’s important to disassemble the unit before transporting it in a vehicle. The weight issue is common with most mobility scooters, which is why they come apart for transporting.

The Scout 3 wheel motor scooter is still lighter than many other models, which makes it easy to travel with. It also offers a long range and a decent speed.

Flat-free, non-marking tires allow you to use this scooter without worry of it damaging your floors.

The scooter’s battery provides a 15-mile range and the LED headlight helps the user see in low-light situations. The DST suspension and automotive-style springs allow for a more comfortable ride. Speaking of comfort, the seat is 17.5″ wide and features cushioned arms for added comfort.

  • Not travel-friendly

The biggest concern with Drive Medical’s Scout Compact scooter is that it’s not very travel-friendly. When disassembled, the pieces are still quite large and can easily take up the entire trunk of a sedan or crossover.

Otherwise, the Scout Compact is a great option for people who want a longer range and wider seat for comfort.
